Has the unfriendly economy caused you to change your spending habits?
Yeah, a little bit. I've never been one for going out and partying, but I used to go to movies and eat out a lot. I rarely go to movies anymore as it's cheaper to rent them (We spent $9 each to see the last Indiana Jones movie- arrgh) and have given up rental stores in favor of Netflix- I may not get instant gratification, but I've found some fun stuff that way and it costs a lot less. (I also stopped buying as many DVD's)
I've stopped buying as many books & cd's and use the library more. I don't buy books/cd's at all unless it's from the used bookstore or I've got a coupon from one of the big stores or on Amazon at a good discount.
And eating out has pretty much gone out the window. It's harder during the summer- it's so hot here that I don't want to cook. But I bring my lunch to work more often than not, and don't splurge on snacks the way I used to.
Good thing too- I need the money for gas for the car and the home heating/cooling bills! Sheesh.
Do you ever read the "Acknowledgments" at the beginning or end of a book? Why or why not? Bonus points: What book contains your favorite acknowledgments?

I can't think of a favorite acknowledgment right offhand, but I do usually read them. I find it interesting to see what kind of influences authors list and what fellow authors they may mention. I've actually found several new authors that way! I esepcially like the ones that mention the music they've listened to while they're writing- I've found some good new music that way as well. And it's always fun to see what kind of nicknames for their friends or goofy personal stories they throw in.
What part of your childhood do you miss the most?

The innocence- not knowing that there were mean, nasty, evil people out there. Not being self-conscious or feeling totally out of place. Not yet knowing that I was "different" and that nearly everyone I would meet would go to great lengths to point it out to me on a regular basis.
In honor of the upcoming Olympics, what could you win a gold medal in?

Hmmmm- there's leaping to the wrong conclusion, diving into trouble headfirst, and bridge burning is always an interesting event. I also excel at competitive belching/farting (too many years hanging out with wrestlers) and indian leg-wrestling. (And people wonder why I'm single.)
Lol- my parents are SO proud.

How do you travel to and from work - personal vehicle, bus, subway/train, pedal power? What does it cost you per week in gas or fares?
Submitted by Jan.
I have to drive to and from work. It runs me about 20-30 dollars a week. The city offers free bus service for city employees. I'd have to leave for work 2 hours early every day, transfer twice, and still walk 1 1/2 miles to get to my office. Going home, since I get off at 1030 pm, I'd have to walk 1 1/2 miles, stand on a corner in the worst projects in Louisville for 45 minutes, transfer 3 times, walk 1/2 mile to my house and get home around 2 am. Needless to say, I'm not too keen on taking advantage of this "service".
